- historical signs of right heart failure will likely be present
- Physical Examination:
- increased rate and depth of respiration
- harsh lung sounds with crackles on respiration
- signs of elevated right heart preload
- jugular venous distention
- positive hepato-jugular reflux
- hepatomegaly
- ascites
- cardiac auscultation may be normal or a split S2 may be noted
